School Calendar Adjustments:  2nd Semester

We appreciate the continued support of our parents, staff, and patrons as we adjust to inclement weather and strive to create a safe school environment.

Please note the following changes to the school calendar due to school days canceled because of recent winter weather:

*Missing school March 3-4 will result in the following changes to our school calendar:
Classes will now extend through Thursday May 22.
Classes will dismiss each day at 3:17 p.m. beginning Wednesday March 5 through Thursday May 22.

*Byng Schools will dismiss classes on Monday, March 31, to allow our teachers, students and patrons to attend the School Funding Rally at the state capitol.

*We will also hold classes on April 18, May 2 and May 9th, which had been designated as snow days and May 22nd.

*Classes will begin each day at 8:20 a.m. instead of 8:25 a.m. and end at 3:17 p.m. instead of 3:05 p.m. for the entire second semester.  Adding these ten minutes each day will allow us to complete the required number of hours of class without adding additional days to our calendar.  We are now out of snow days, so any additional days missed will require us to change our calendar.

A-F Report Cards
The Byng Schools A-F report cards for last year were released by the Oklahoma State Department of Education November 6, 2013. While these reports undoubtedly provide useful information we will use in our quest to improve the way we teach students, they fall far short of presenting a comprehensive picture of the work done by students, faculty, and patrons of Byng Schools. We remain committed to giving every student enrolled at Byng the chance to succeed and appreciate all you do to help us reach that goal.  Please feel free to contact any of the school sites or the central office if you have specific questions about the grades or how they were tabulated. We will continue to work hard to give Byng students every opportunity to reach their dreams and to remain the “School of Choice”.
